Accra, Ghana – 16 September 2025 – AOW:Energy 2025 opened in spectacular style last night with a high-level gala at the Presidency of Ghana, attended by more than 450 distinguished guests from across government, industry, and the investment community. The evening, held in partnership with ExxonMobil and GNPC Ghana, set the stage for a week dedicated to advancing Africa’s upstream and natural resource development.

The prestigious gathering was hosted by Her Excellency Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, who welcomed guests and declared the event the beginning of “a new dawn of partnership between the Government of Ghana and AOW:Energy.” She underscored the commitment of Ghana to leverage natural resources as a catalyst for prosperity, growth, and regional cooperation.

The evening also featured a keynote contribution from ExxonMobil’s senior delegation, who reaffirmed the company’s long-standing presence and future ambitions in Africa’s upstream. Their message centered on ExxonMobil’s commitment to driving exploration, production growth, and local partnerships that support Africa’s energy security and development goals.

The celebration reached its peak with a tribute to GNPC Ghana’s 40th Anniversary, marking four decades of service as the nation’s flagship energy institution. Guests applauded GNPC’s journey as a pillar of national pride, recognizing its achievements in advancing Ghana’s upstream sector and supporting socio-economic development.
