Welcome from the Chief Executive Officer

For more than three decades, AOW:Energy has brought together the largest concentration of investors, operators, governments, financiers and technology leaders shaping Africa’s energy future. Built on a 30+ year legacy and supported by one of the industry’s most influential communities of commercial and technical decision-makers, AOW:Energy exists to accelerate upstream development, unlock investment and transform Africa’s energy potential into long-term energy security.

AOW:Energy 2026 marked a defining chapter in our journey as Sankofa Events welcomed the industry to Accra, Ghana. Hosted in partnership with the Government of Ghana and opened by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of Ghana, the event attracted more than 1,800 global leaders from across the energy value chain. Together, they came with a shared ambition to increase exploration, advance production, build critical energy infrastructure and attract investment to strengthen regional energy security. The results were unprecedented, with more than $3 billion in new capital commitments, partnerships and transactions initiated across the sector.

In 2027, we go again.

Our mission remains simple: to ensure every molecule is produced, every viable project is advanced, every opportunity is explored and every avenue for value addition is developed to strengthen our regional economies through the responsible monetisation of natural resources. We believe the greatest threat to Africa’s energy future is time. Opportunities delayed are opportunities lost. That is why AOW:Energy will continue to work relentlessly to accelerate investment, advance projects and maximise the value created from our natural resource sector.

Energy is the foundation of economic growth, industrialisation and human development. Together, we will continue to use AOW:Energy as a platform for investment, partnership and action, unlocking Africa’s resources to deliver energy security, economic prosperity and lasting benefits for generations to come.

AOW:Energy 2027

AOW:Energy is Africa's premier energy business platform, designed to connect energy opportunity with capital, resources with technology. We showcase the most prestigious opportunities and projects across the African Up and Midstream and connect you with the partners required to bring them to life. For more than three decades, AOW:Energy has provided the environment where commercial relationships are established, strategic partnerships are formed, and the conversations that shape Africa's energy future take place.

In partnership with the Government of Ghana, AOW:Energy 2027 will focus on one objective above all others: delivering outcomes. As producers and investors pursue ambitious exploration, production and infrastructure targets, the industry requires a platform capable of accelerating decision-making, facilitating investment and moving projects towards execution. AOW:Energy provides that platform.

From licensing rounds and acreage promotion to farm-ins, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, project finance, infrastructure development and gas monetisation, AOW:Energy brings together the decision-makers responsible for deploying capital and advancing projects across the continent. National oil companies, governments, operators, traders, financiers, technical specialists and service providers convene with a singular purpose: to identify opportunities and convert them into transactions.

The event serves as a marketplace for investment and development. New licensing opportunities are launched, Production Sharing Agreements are discussed, asset portfolios are presented, work programmes are showcased, and technical subsurface teams share the geological insights that will underpin the next generation of discoveries. Through basin presentations, data showcases, prospectivity reviews and strategic investment forums, AOW:Energy creates an environment where technical understanding is transformed into commercial opportunity.

As Africa seeks to increase production, expand infrastructure, commercialise natural gas and strengthen energy security, the need for a dedicated platform that connects investors with projects has never been greater. AOW:Energy exists to bridge that gap by bringing together those who control resources with those who provide capital, technology and expertise.

Simply put, AOW:Energy is where the deals happen.

Our Shared Vision

At AOW:Energy, we believe Africa's natural resources must deliver more than production. They must deliver prosperity. Our shared vision is to create a future where the responsible development of oil, gas and energy resources generates wealth, creates jobs, drives industrialisation and improves the quality of life for people across our continent.

We believe Africa can, and should, define its own energy agenda. An agenda shaped by African priorities, African leadership and African ambition. By working together across borders, governments, national oil companies, investors and industry leaders can unlock the full value of our resources, accelerate economic development and create long-term opportunities for future generations.

Our goal is to ensure that the wealth created from Africa's energy sector remains a catalyst for regional growth, value addition and sustainable development. From exploration and production to refining, power generation, manufacturing and infrastructure, we advocate for an energy future that creates shared value throughout the entire economy.

Together, we can build a stronger energy sector. Together, we can create jobs, attract investment and expand prosperity. Together, we can ensure Africa's resources become a foundation for shared growth, shared opportunity and shared success for all its people.
