Going strong for over 36 years, the London Mediterranean, Middle East and Africa (MMEA) Scout Group is one of the largest oil and gas networking groups of its kind. It is only open to bona fide energy companies, and seeks no sponsorship from service companies, allowing members to talk freely without worrying their activities will turn up in the latest industry bulletin.
Currently the MMEA has a membership of over 80 companies and regularly meets at an exclusive central London venue. The membership ranges from Super Majors to small, one- license companies and is run by a committee of volunteers as a not-for-profit organisation.
The region covered by the MMEA, includes all countries of the Mediterranean rim, Middle East (as far east as Pakistan) and Africa. The group permits energy companies from any region to qualify as members, should they have an interest in expanding into the region.

Whilst the MMEA has seen many changes in the industry over its lifetime, the power of a regular and diverse scout group cannot be underestimated, and many deals have resulted from conversations held over meeting breaks.
